Food Intolerance Testing

When you experience a food-specific IgG reaction or ‘intolerance’ to a particular food or drink, the body can produce a variety of inflammatory responses as it incorrectly identifies the ingredient as a threat. Unlike allergic reactions, these immune responses can be delayed up to 72 hours and vary in severity, affecting digestion, skin, joints, breathing, energy levels and even psychological health.

You may be experiencing symptoms that you have never before connected to a possible food reaction!

Understanding your own personal food and drink intolerances, and the effects they could have on your health and wellbeing, is important to ensure you make the best possible choices for your diet and your first step to food freedom!

Food Intolerance Testing

I have teamed up with Lorisian, a York-based laboratory with 35 years of experience in IgG ELISA Food Intolerance Testing. Lorisian's food-specific IgG method has had more papers published about its performance than any other food food-specific IgG tests on the market.

What's included?

  • a printout of your rest results
  • a Lorisian Guidebook and Food Diary
  • a consultation of up to 1 hour with me at The Body Matters in Leigh-on-Sea or the Yoga Factory in Southend-on-Sea

How does it work?

I strongly recommend that you first talk to me, so I can learn more about your symptoms. Sometimes a food intolerance test is not the right test or not the most appropriate test to do, so please take advantage of the offer of a complimentary telephone conversation before deciding. It could save you money.

Fill in the form below to indicate which test you would like to buy and request a Lorisian sample collection kit. You will receive an invoice for your chosen test via email. The sample collection kit will be sent to you in the post.

The kit contains the instructions on how to take your sample. Just two blood drops are needed. Post the sample to Lorisian using the Freepost envelope enclosed in the kit. Your results will be ready within just 5 - 10 days. As soon as I receive them, I will contact you to book your 1-hour appointment with me included in the fee.

What if the result is positive?

Food intolerances are a symptom of a compromised digestive system. Avoiding the offending foods is likely to alleviate symptoms very quickly, but this alone may not be enough to avoid digestive disturbances further down the line. During the consultation included with the test, I will explain the implications of food intolerances and may advise to take further nutritional therapy for gut healing.

What if the result is negative?

If no IgG antibodies are found in your blood sample, Lorisian will refund most of the fee: You will receive all of your money back bar £40 for the Lorisian 100, all but £50 for the Lorisian 150+ test. There is no refund for the Lorisian 75. Unfortunately, I cannot offer a free consultation if your test result is negative, however, I would advise to book in for a regular nutritional therapy consultation to explore what else - if not food intolerance - might be causing your symptoms.

Before you decide

It is important that you are sure that it is food intolerance testing you are looking for, and not food allergy testing, which I cannot provide. Please click here for the difference between the two or leave your phone number below and I will give you a call and help you decide what kind of test will be best for you.
